JOB VACANCY: Solar Energy Installation and Maintenance Trainer-Balcad

Position Title: Solar Energy Installation and Maintenance Trainer/Teacher
Location Requirement: Applicants must live in Balcad.

1. Job Purpose

The Solar Energy Installation and Maintenance Trainer will deliver theoretical and practical training to students in solar energy systems, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures. The trainer will equip students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to pursue employment or self-employment in the renewable energy sector.

2. Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver lessons on solar energy installation, operation, and maintenance.
Train students in solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and related components.
Conduct practical demonstrations on solar system installation and troubleshooting.
Teach electrical safety, proper tool handling, and safe working procedures.
Prepare lesson plans, training materials, practical exercises, and student assessments.
Monitor student attendance, participation, progress, and practical competencies.
Maintain training equipment and ensure the workshop is safe and organized.
Support students in developing employable technical skills and small-business opportunities.
Prepare training reports and provide feedback on student performance.

3. Required Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor's Degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
A certificate or recognized qualification in Solar Energy Installation and Maintenance.
At least two (2) years of experience as a teacher or trainer in solar energy or a related technical field.
Must currently live in Balcad, Somalia.
Demonstrated ability to teach students and deliver both theoretical and practical training.
Good communication, classroom management, and student assessment skills.

4. Preferred Qualifications

Additional professional certification in solar photovoltaic (PV) installation, maintenance, or renewable energy.
Experience in vocational education and technical skills development.
Experience developing practical training materials and conducting competency-based assessments.
