We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lecturer in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies to teach students enrolled in the Diploma in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and clinical instruction while ensuring students develop the theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required for professional pharmacy practice.

The lecturer will contribute to curriculum delivery, student assessment, academic advising, and continuous improvement of the Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies program. The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and capable of integrating evidence-based pharmacy practice into the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and course outlines.
  • Prepare and administer examinations, assignments, quizzes, and practical assessments.
  • Supervise students during laboratory and clinical practice sessions.
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Participate in curriculum review and program development.
  • Ensure teaching aligns with institutional academic standards and quality assurance requirements.
  • Keep up to date with current trends, research, and best practices in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies.
  • Attend departmental meetings and perform other academic duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required with experience.
  • Professional registration/licensure with the relevant Pharmacy Council is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 or 3 years of teaching experience in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Studies at a university, college, or TVET institution.
  • Practical clinical or professional experience in Pharmacy is highly desirable.
  • Experience teaching Diploma-level students is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy theory, pharmaceutical sciences, and clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Excellent teaching, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare instructional materials and assess student learning effectively.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital teaching tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
