1. Background
We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and passionate English Language Lecturer and Instructor to deliver high-quality English language instruction for both university students and general English learners. The successful candidate will teach University English courses, General English, and CEFR-aligned English programmes (A1–C2), while also supporting learners preparing for IELTS and other academic or professional English examinations.
The instructor should have experience teaching learners at different proficiency levels and be capable of designing engaging lessons that improve learners' communication, academic writing, critical thinking, and English language proficiency.
2. Purpose of the Position
The English Language Lecturer and Instructor will:
- Teach University English courses for undergraduate students.
- Deliver General English courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) from A1 to C2.
- Prepare learners for IELTS and other English proficiency examinations.
- Strengthen learners' academic and professional communication skills.
3. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

- Teach General English courses for learners from beginner (A1) to proficiency (C2).
- Deliver English language instruction in:
- Speaking

- Vocabulary
- Pronunciation
- Prepare and deliver IELTS preparation classes (Academic and General Training).
- Conduct learner placement tests and English proficiency assessments.
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments, examinations, and learning materials.
- Evaluate learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain attendance records, grading records, and student progress reports.
- Create an engaging, learner-centred, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies, technology, and digital learning platforms into instruction.
- Support students in developing academic writing, research, presentation, and workplace communication skills.
- Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uphold institutional policies, professional ethics, and quality assurance standards.
4. Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Master's degree (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in:
- English Language
- English Literature
- Linguistics
- Applied Linguistics
- Education (English)
- TESOL
- TEFL
- ELT
- Or a closely related field.
- A recognized English language teaching qualification such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or TEFL is an added advantage.
- IELTS Teaching certification or equivalent is desirable.
5. Professional Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
- Experience teaching English at university or higher education level.
- Experience teaching General English to youth and adults.
- Demonstrated experience teaching learners across CEFR levels (A1–C2).
- Experience preparing students for IELTS examinations.
- Experience teaching one or more of the following:
- Academic English
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
- Business English
- Workplace English
- General English
- Experience in face-to-face, online, or blended learning environments.
6. Required Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong knowledge of CEFR (A1–C2) and communicative language teaching methodologies.
- Ability to teach both University English courses and General English programmes.
- Strong understanding of IELTS preparation and examination strategies.
- Excellent lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment skills.
- Ability to teach learners from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong communication, facilitation, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- Excellent organizational and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital teaching tools.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality education.
7. Deliverables
The successful candidate will produce:
- Course outlines and lesson plans.
- Teaching and learning materials.
- Placement tests and learner assessments.
- Mid-term and final examinations.
- Student attendance and grading records.
- Student progress reports.
- End-of-course evaluation reports.
